My Name is Marceline Mulongo. I have been battling with health challenges for most of my life. I was not born with a disability—I became paralyzed as a child after I was rushed to the hospital and given multiple injections during a severe illness. Since then, life has not been easy.
Growing up with paralysis affected my education and daily life. Going to school was a challenge, and although I reached Advanced Level, my family background and health condition made it difficult to continue. I had to stop my education despite my desire to go further.
Recently, on the 16th of June 2025, I underwent surgery on my stomach. Although my leg was not operated on, my condition worsened afterward. Since returning from the hospital, I have not been myself. I am currently unable to walk, and I cannot do many things on my own. The pain and limitations have made daily life very difficult.
Despite these challenges, I have skills and dreams. I studied fashion and design, but due to my health condition, I am unable to practice for now. My focus is on recovery so that I can regain strength and independence.
I was empowered through the Symbol of Life Unity Group under a special support program. I do not need financial payments—what I need is empowerment through tools. With support such as sewing accessories and industrial sewing machines, I will be able to use the skills I already have and rebuild my life.
I believe that with the right support and opportunity, I can become independent again and contribute meaningfully to society.
